Four people were taken to hospital after an explosion at an oilsands facility in Fort McMurray on Monday night. The explosion blew out one wall at the Syncrude Canada Ltd. facility, company spokeswoman Cheryl Robb said. One person received first- and second-degree burns to the face, neck and forearms and was still in hospital, said Chris Chodan, a spokesman for Alberta workplace health and safety. The hospital released the other three workers after they were treated for shock. The explosion took place during the extraction portion of the mining process.
